Exams And Convocation To Proceed As Scheduled - Uitm

SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- The Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) will proceed with its examination and convocation programmes according to schedule, said the Academic and International Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Mustaffa Mohamed Zain.

He said the dates for the local examinations, scheduled to start from October to November and the dates for convocation from Oct 15 to 27 remained unchanged.

"Lectures and classes will proceed as usual. However, should there be changes, the UiTM will make an official announcement," he said in a statement here Friday.

Mustaffa said the UiTM, however, had no intention of closing all its campuses in the country because of the H1N1 virus situation as the situation did not warrant it as advised by the Health Ministry.

"We (UiTM) ask the parents and members of the public not to listen to rumour that claimed we are closed," he said.

Mustaffa advised UiTM students and officers with health problems to get treatment at clinics and health centres nearby.
